Image via WikipediaIllidan Stormrage, the betrayer and brother of Malfurion Stormrage, who was imprisoned by the Night Elves in Reign of Chaos, has escaped in the Frozen Throne Expansion with the help f the Naga race. They were pursued by Maiev Shadowsong, the Warden and found out the plot was to gain control of the Eye of Sargeras. He did and was able to wipe out Maiev's forces.
Maiev called for reinforcements from Malfurion and Tyrande Whisperwind. The chase went all the way to Lordaeron, but Tyrande needed to help the Blood Elves led by their Prince Kael' Thas and delayed the overpowering advance of the Undead army which caused her to be swept away down river.
This time its Maiev who betrayed Malfurion telling him that Tyrande died in order to continue pursuit of Illidan. Illidan and his forces were caught and was condemned to death by Malfurion for indirectly causing Tyrande's demise.
Illidan defended his reason that he needed the Eye of Sargeras to destroy the Ice Crown Glacier and kill the Lich king, ultimately destroying the Undead army. Somewhere in the middle of this, the Blood Elven Prince Kael'Thas surfaces and informed Malfurion of Maiev's treachery telling him Tyrande may have survived.
The Stormrafe brothers now joined forces against the Undead Scourge and eventually saved Tyrande. Though Malfurion asked Illidan to join again the Night Elves but the latter refused and fled with the Naga to Outland where Maiev still pursues him and THE HUNT FOR ILLIDAN CONTNUES...
